Secure your proctors/administrators

Need a 1:34 Proctor/Student ratio
Designate someone to be the instruction reader for each exam.
Make sure proctors avoid conflicts of interest
• EX: English teachers cannot proctor English exams, etc.
• EX: Family members should not proctor exams where family
members are testing.
•
Secure your exam site
• Make sure the room(s) are properly equipped:
• No round tables
• All tables/desks facing the same direction
• Proper spacing (see AP Coordinator’s Manual for
more details)
• Make sure the room(s) are free from noisy distractions:
• Students going to lockers
• Bells or intercom announcements
•
Security Issues that need attention:
• Store AP Exams in a secure location – no unauthorized
access by students or teachers
• No cell phones/electronic devices allowed in the testing
room – this includes proctors!
• Impress upon students and teachers to refrain from
discussing exam items
• Avoid conflicts of interest
•
Exam Fees
• A+ College Ready reimburses $45 per exam for math,
science, and English.
• The state of Alabama applies each year for a federal
grant to cover the cost for low-income students.

Federal grant covers up to $20 for low-income students in all
subjects
The state will kick in $10 for low-income students, making their
cost for any exam $10.
Low-income students in A+ College Ready program schools
will not incur a charge for math, science, & English exams.
