Array
An arrangement of objects that has rows
and columns. Arrays must have equal
amounts in every row.
This array represents
4X6=24
Column
A vertical (up and down)
representation of objects.
There are 6 columns here.
Division
The operation that breaks objects into
equal groups. Division decreases a
number (makes it smaller). It subtracts
the same number over and over.
20 balloons divided into 4 groups = 5
balloons EACH
Divisor
The amount that a number is
broken up by.
56 divided by 8 = 7 (8 is the divisor)
EACH
Every one of a group. This is a
target word for multiplication or
division!
Factor
A number that is multiplied by
another number.
8X7=56 (8 and 7 are factors)
Half
One of 2 equal parts. You
find half of something by
dividing it by 2
Multiples

(makes it bigger).
4 bundles of balloons with 5 in EACH
bundle equals 20 total balloons.
Product
The answer to a multiplication
problem.
8x7=56
Quotient
The answer to a division
problem
56
8= 7
Rows
A horizontal (left to right)
representation of objects.
There are 3 rows of
squiggly lines here.
