Number Operation
SUBSETS OF THE REAL NUMBERS:
Whole Numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3,…
Integers: …, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3,…
Rational Numbers: Numbers that
can be written as the ratio of two
integers. As decimals they terminate
or repeat.
Ex: ¾ = 0.75 and 1/3 = 0.333…
Irrational Numbers: Real numbers
that are not rational. When written
as decimals, irrational numbers
neither terminate nor repeat.
