Vocabulary
• A ratio is a way to compare two numbers.
• When one segment is twice as long as
another, the ratio of the length of the longer
segment to the length of the shorter segment
is “two to one.”
• One way to write “two to one” is 2:1. That
means that for every two units of length on
the longer segment, there is one unit of length
on the shorter segment.
