SOPRANO
• Soprano (voice) – The highest female
voice.
• Historically, women were not allowed
to sing in the Church so the soprano
roles were given to young boys.
• Here is a classical piece of opera sung
by a Soprano – Queen of the Night
ALTO
• Alto (voice) – The lowest female
• In pop music a singer who has a lower
voice than a soprano would be called a
mezzo-soprano .

• Tenor (voice) – A high adult male voice.

• Bass (voice) – The lowest adult male
voice.
• In pop music there are very few bass
singers, but one example would be
