Fairy Tale Power of Reading Stories:
Weeks 1 and 2: Nursery Rhymes
Weeks 3 and 4: Cinderella
Weeks 5 and 6: The Leopard’s Drum
*Each week, the children will be engaging in Literacy, Maths, Expressive Arts and Understanding of
the World activities associated with these 3 key stories.
PE: Every Friday is our PE lesson. Children can come to school in their PE uniform.

Week 1: Addition – children learning the vocabulary for addition (add, plus, put together)
and engaging in practical activities.
Week 1: Revision
Week 2: Continuation of Addition Exploration, and counting different amounts up to and
beyond 20.

Week 3: 3D shapes – building/constructing/manipulating shapes and looking at shapes in
the environment. Subtraction – vocabulary and practical activities.
Week 3: ow
Week 4: oi
Week 4: 3D shapes – building/constructing/manipulating shapes and looking at shapes in
the environment. Subtraction – vocabulary and practical activities.
Week 5: ur
Week 5: Maths Assessment Week – looking at counting skills/understanding of shape,
pattern and measurement.
Week 6: er
Week 6: Ordering numbers from 0-20; Engaging in games involving number scoring and
tally marks.
Week 7: Revision
Week 7: Number sequencing games to 20 and beyond; Engaging in games involving number
scoring and tally marks.
