Writing and Grammar are state tested in 4th grade

prefixes/suffixes, VOCABULARY
• Please see that your 4th grade continues to
practice their addition, subtraction and
multiplication facts. This year we will continue to
have timed quizzes on these facts to help with
automaticity and we’ll add division facts to this as
well.
• We will have homework in math on Monday due
Wednesday and on Wednesday due Friday. My
website has useful links to aid in various math
concepts.
• Go Mathletes!
Scientists in the making
Science STAAR test is taken in 5th grade but we spend
time in 4th grade science helping to support this
knowledge and vertical alignment. We will go to the
science lab every Thursday.
**Every 4th grader is responsible for a
science fair project.
*Will be integrated into reading
and writing
*Field trip supports our focus in 4th
grade.
Reading- read own book, assigned reading,
IStation, test review
Writing/grammar-paragraph of the week
Spelling/vocabuary- word study assignment- 3xs
*Usually a weekly test on Friday
Math: Monday and Wednesday/study for quizzes
Science: science fair project/study for quizzes
Social Studies- only when there is project or big
test review
