
All verbs must be constantly the same tense
throughout the whole sentence or paragraph
Past Tense:
 I ran to the store yesterday.
Present Tense:
I am running to my house right now.
Future Tense:
I will have to run to school tomorrow.

. Notice how in each of the sentences the verb
run was consistent through the whole sentence.

. Yesterday I was late for school and I got a
detention. This is because I got up late and my
mom was gone. I also got stuck in traffic
because there was a crash. I got to the school
and, the doors were locked. So I finally got the
principal to open the doors and he asked why I
was late so I told him and he gave me a
detention. That is why I got a detention
yesterday.

. Even when writing paragraphs all verbs must
be in the same tense throughout the whole
paragraph.
