What is conjugation?
Concept & Definition of
Conjugation:
Conjugation is to assign
someone or something to do
an action (infinitive verb).
What is an infinitive?
In order to understand conjugation we
must also answer this question:
What is an infinitive verb?
An infinitive is an unassigned action.
In Spanish, the infinitive is identified by
the last two letters of the verb: -AR, -ER
or –IR.

Steps of conjugation
1. Identify the parts of the infinitive:
An infinitive consists of the stem and
the ending.

2. In regular present tense
conjugation, the ending changes and
the stem stays the same.
So the next step is to assign the
endings.
There are 6 possible ending to match
each of the subject pronouns in
Spanish.

What about “it”?
There are a few representations for “it” in
Spanish, but they are used under specific
grammatical circumstances.
In order to identify the object that is
assigned to the verb simply mention the
noun by name.
A singular “it” uses the él, ella, usted singular
form
A plural “it” uses the ellos, ellas, ustedes form
