• John 13: 3-5: Jesus knew that the Father
had put him in complete charge of
everything, that he came from God and was
on his way back to God. So he got up from
the supper table, set aside his robe, and put
on an apron. Then he poured water into a
basin and began to wash the feet of the
disciples, drying them with his apron.

• يوحنا :5-3 :13وكان يسوع عالما أن اآلب قد جعل
كل شيء في يديه وأنه من هللا خرج وإلى هللا سيعود،
نهض عن مائدة العشاء ،وخلع رداءه وأخذ منشفة لفها
على وسطه ،ثم صب ماء في وعاء للغسل ،وبدأ يغسل
أقدام التالميذ ويمسحها بالمنشفة التي على وسطه.

Modals (2) How can we make
questions about ability?
• Modal verbs are helping/auxiliary verbs that express
ideas like ability, permission, possibility, and
necessity. Many modal verbs have more than one
meaning. They are always followed by the simple
form of a verb.
• Modal auxiliary + subject + main verb + ... ?
- Can she play guitar?
- Could you speak English Before this
program?

• Notice that we do not need the verbs
“do/does/did” when we make questions!
