3. FEATURES OF MODAL VERBS
• Lack of –s in the third person
singular in the Present tense.
• He may be busy for this trip.
• Some lack of the form of the Past
tense.
• They do not exist independently
without the main verb.
• I can swim.
• Have more than one meaning.
