• The verb ser is one of two verbs in
Spanish that means “to be.”
• Ser is an infinitive – the base form of a
verb.
• When there is a subject present ser
changes to a subject form.

When talking To a friend, family
member, someone you are on a
first name basis with use:
tú eres – you(familiar)

When talking about one other
person or thing use:
él es – He is
ella es – She is

else and yourself use:
nosotros somos We are
nosotras somos – We are(fem.)
To talk about more than one
other person or thing use:
