Frequency adverbs. Chart page 126.
Used before the main verbs:
I sometimes eat salad.
He rarely practices sports.

Used after the verb to be and Modal Verbs:
I’m always studying.
She’ll never undersatand this.

You can always come here.
My mother has often driven the car.
Usually, normally, often, generally,
sometimes, frequently and occasionaly.
Occasionally I go to a party.
I go to a party occasionally.

Always and Never in the beginning with order
Always pay attention in the class.
Never smoke here!

Frequency Adverbial Locution: every
day/week/year comes in the end of the
sentence. In the beginnig to give emphasis.
They visit their grandparents every year.
Every year they visit their grandparents.

Locutions: once, twice, three times a
year/month, etc. used in the end
I exercise three times a week.


Adverbs
Manner/Place/Time = General Position
He woke up quickly at home at 7 o’clock.
Yesterday I walked slowly in the street.

Place/Manner/Time = with verbs of moviment
I went out from there by bus last weekend.

More specific Time to the general time =
more than one Time adverb
I saw him at 8 o’clock on Monday evening in
April, 1999.


