Two kinds of verbs
• a transitive verb takes an object (vt + obj)
eg. He won the match
She broke the cup.
• an intransitive verb does not take an object
eg. arrive, wait
Tell me when he arrived.
If there is an object after the intransitive verb,
we put a preposition after it. (vi + prep +
obj)
