Let’s talk.
 We can ask “What’s your favourite _____?”, and get the
answer “My favourite _______ is _______”.
 E.g. What’s your favourite book?”
 My favourite book is Harry Potter.”
 Or we can ask “What kind of _____ do you like”
 E.g. “What kind of books do you like?”
 “I really like fantasy books.”
Genre
 Words like fantasy, comic, mystery, rock, pop, jazz,
comedies, soap operas, action and horror are called
genres.
 A genre is a style of book, movie, music, etc.
 When we ask “What kind of book do you like?”, it is
the same as “What is your favourite book genre?”

 When we answer the question: Do you like music?
 You can answer like this:
 Yes I do.
 Yes, I really like rock music.
So how do I get an

 If you want to get an A+, you need to say what you
don’t like too.

 “I really like rock, but I don’t like jazz.”
