Operating System: collection of
software that directs a computer's
operations, controlling and
scheduling the execution of other
programs, and managing storage,
input/output, and communication
resources.
Kernel: central component of most
computer’s OS; it’s a bridge between
applications and the actual data processing
done at the hardware level
