Transcript Appeal for Nepal Mufti Day
We hope that all the schools in Somerset will be
raising funds to help those affected by the
earthquake in Nepal.
More than 6,100 people have died and hundreds
more missing, injured or at risk and the death toll
is still rising.
The Fundraising Team
The money we will raise will help provide
emergency shelter, food, clean water and
blankets to those in need and help provide the
helicopters so desperately needed to get help to
the people .
It will also help house people whose homes have
been destroyed to rebuild their lives.
On Wednesday 6th May The Blue School
will be having a non school uniform day to raise
funds.
As a symbol of our solidarity with the people of
Nepal we, and other schools in Somerset, will
be flying Tibetan Prayer Flags in Kennion and
Milton.

Though Nepal is famous, as the
world's only Hindu Kingdom, equal
respect is given to other religions.
Buddhism is the second largest
religion followed in Nepal, others
being Islam and Christianity
All religions use prayer and spiritual
symbols to open up greater
possibilities for the good of the
world
You will see Buddhist prayer flags
flying outside homes and places of
spiritual practice
Written on the flags are prayers,
positive symbols and mantras
Symbolically the wind carries these
prayers across the land blessing all
whom the wind touches
Over time the wind, rain, sun and
snow break down the material and
it returns to the earth
