According to many health
professionals, remaining healthy
and free of disease is dependent
on maintaining the body’s pH.
Human tissue is naturally
slightly alkaline, hovering
around a pH of 7.4.
The pH of the body is often
tested by testing the pH of
saliva right after waking up.
When the body is too acidic, it
doesn’t function properly. A
result of this acidity is difficulty
getting oxygen to cells.
How pH Fluctuation
Affects the Body


The body has very complex biochemical
buffering systems to maintain the pH. When
those systems fail, the body can’t function
properly.
For example, iodine is a necessary element
for the thyroids to function. However, the pH
needed for absorption to occur is very narrow,
right around 7.4. If the pH is off, then the
iodine can’t be used. Malfunctioning thyroids
have been connected to cancer, heart attack,
diabetes, arthritis, and other diseases.
Negative Effects of Low pH


As the pH of blood gets lower, the usually
negatively-charged fatty acids switch to a positive
charge. However, the sides of capillaries, arteries,
and veins remain negatively-charged. This means
that they’re attracted to each other, clogging up
the blood vessels.
Enzymes are catalysts in many reactions in the
body. There are hundreds if not thousands of
enzyme processes which take place in the body.
Many are so specific that they are like complex
square pegs that need to "fit" into specific square
holes in order to carry out their duty. If blood pH
is off balance even a little, some important pegs
are not "fitting" their respective slots. Enzyme
function and thus life itself begins to suffer.
So…
How Can Body pH Be Maintained?



Unfortunately, most Westerners do not eat a
diet that supports the alkalytic state of the
body.
Eating foods that, after digestion, have a high
pH helps regulate your body pH. Foods like this
include most fruits and vegetables, whole
grains, soy products, and yogurt.
Note that a food's acid or alkaline forming
tendency in the body has nothing to do with
the actual pH of the food itself. For example,
lemons are very acidic, however the end
products they produce after digestion and
assimilation are very alkaline so, lemons are
alkaline forming in the body. Likewise, meat
will test alkaline before digestion, but it leaves
very acidic residue in the body so, like nearly
all animal products, meat is very acid forming.

High pH Cancer Treatment


Cells, whether cancerous or not, can only thrive in a
environment with a pH of 6.5 to 7.5. Cancer cells can
survive in anaerobic acidic surroundings, but die when the
area they are in becomes more alkalytic.
According to many naturopaths, consuming cesium in the
form of cesium chloride increases the pH of cancerous
cells, but doesn’t affect the pH of healthy cells.



Naturally occurring cesium is not radioactive, and should not be confused with Cesium 137, which is
artificially produced.
This theory has very little scientific proof, with only one
major study performed with a very small sample size of
fifty patients.
The medical practitioner who began this treatment was
arrested in 2006 for manslaughter of his patients. He is
currently awaiting trial in Australia.
