medical, dental and behavioral health
patient encounters.
 25 school based clinics
 6 comprehensive primary care sites.
 Increase
the percentage of Cervical Cancer
Screenings of HIV+ female clients at JTCHC
by ensuring that each receives a yearly Pap
Smear
 For the year 2013 the goal is 70%
 2007 – Pap Smear Testing rate was 42%
 JTCHC believes that early screening and
detection is the only way to prevent the
occurrence of the disease and limit the
resulting complications
 Multidisciplinary
Team Approach
 2009-A specific pap smear clinic HIV+ females
 2011- Utilized ARNPs & OB/GYN clinic for
easier accessibility any day of the week
 Clients who came for others services, were
able to be seen on as a walk-in to receive
their annual pap smear screen.
 On clinic days, if screening is identified as a
need, client can be immediately referred to

part of identifying clients’ need for a Pap
Smear
 Providing Information/Education to female
clients about cervical cancer increases their
knowledge and interest in getting screened
 Providers are not proactive in promoting and
ordering cervical cancer screening for the
female clients
 A holistic approach was effective in
increasing the compliance rate from 42% in
2007 to 69% YTD.
 JTCHC
will continue to promote health
improvement for patients.
 Cervical Cancer Screening is ongoing and the
center is striving for the highest Pap Smear
test compliance rate.
 Resulting in the overall health benefit for the
patients, such as early detection.
