Preliminary Steps
• a FTP program is used and executed such as
WS_FTP LE
• Information needed
– host name
– user id
– password
Execute a FTP program
After execution, the host name, the user id are entered
(diagram below)

FTP connects the local computer with the remote host machine
Change the directory of the remote host computer under public_html
File Transfer in Network
• Use arrows to transfer files between the
local computer and the remote host
computer
• Under the directory of public_html, all your
Web pages are placed there.
• The name of your first homepage must be
called index.htm
• Your Web site is
http://kyc.hkcampus.net/~<username>
