THE HISTORY OF BLOGGING
The modern blog evolved from the online diary.
By 2001, blogging was enough of a phenomenon
that how-to manuals began to appear, primarily
focusing on technique.
It is estimated that blogging will peak in 2007,
leveling off when the number of writers who
maintain a personal website reaches 100 million.
WHY BLOG???
Many blogs provide
commentary or news
on a particular subject
such as food, politics,
or local news; others
function as more
personal online
diaries.

blog so that only your friends can see it.

Technorati was tracking more than 106 million
blogs.

consequences.

Employees who write about aspects of their
place of employment or their personal lives,
and then face loss of employment or other
adverse consequences
TIPS FOR BLOGGING
Never offer any personal information
Never post inappropriate pictures
Assume what you publish on the Web is
permanent.
Use blogging provider sites with clearly
stated terms of use
Anyone on the Internet can easily print out a blog or
save it to a computer.
Make sure there is password protection
Keep blogs positive and don't use them for
slander or to attack others.
