What is Web 2.0?


Web 2.0 is a term developed to acknowledge the
new ways people are using the web.
It describes two major paradigm shifts:
 1.
The User Rules
 2.
Thin Client Computing
Paradigm Shift #1: The User Rules



The web is no longer top down and one way
Wikis, blogs, social networking sites, and other
types of collaborative web programs allow users to
generate and share content in ways they haven’t
been able to before.
Users can connect, they can build communities, they
can share information, and they can collaborate
Paradigm Shift #2: Thin Client
Computing



In thin client computing, data and applications are
stored on Web servers. Users have access to
software and storage from any computer or
portable data device with internet access.
Thin client computing allows users to generate even
more content.
Google docs, Blogger, Wordpress, are examples of
thin client computing.

your job search.
You can monitor and stay connected with a variety
of businesses, organizations, and groups.

A blog is short for web log.
Blogs are usually maintained by individuals.
They’re most often used to highlight a particular
theme (news, politics, technology, humor, etc.) or a
particular area of expertise or interest.
They often contain a place where readers can
comment.

Blogs are fairly easy to set up and maintain.
Blogs are a great way to show expertise and
interest in a particular area.
Blogs can often show a more complete picture of
you than a resume, Twitter update or LinkedIn
profile.

resume online.
