Using Microsoft Word
First a few tips for creating a website.
The Seven Rules of Web Site Design
Use these rules to improve the basic design of the Web sites you
create. Studies have shown that simple, clean designs are the best for
drawing and retaining visitors. You want to give visitors to your site
good content and plenty of choices, but you don’t want to distract
them with unnecessary bells and whistles.

The Web is for reaching out to people.
Keep your Web pages lean and clean.
Don’t make your visitors jump through hoops.
Never make an unnecessary link.
Always group necessary items together.
If you can give visitors an option, do so.
It’s your Web Page. It’s your vision. Do it your way.
Tips for Designing a Web Site
Use these tips to make the content of the Web sites you create as appealing
as possible. The goal here is to use a simple, clean design for your content,
and to make all your pages as consistent as possible. You want to

Make your content as useful as possible.
Use appealing graphics, but make sure that they support the content.
Give your pages a consistent appearance.
Install a search feature.
Update your pages often so that people have a reason to return
frequently.

• Know your audience and strive to please them.

Now to create your Page.
• Open Microsoft Word
• Layout your page
– Use Text, ClipArt, Pictures, and Links
– Save your page in a folder of your choice
– Email your folder to:
[email protected]
Open a blank document in Microsoft Word
Add a Header. I would use a Text Box.
Easier to move around the page.
Add Text, Graphics, and Hyperlinks
When you are finished adding text, graphics, and hyperlinks, you
can then save the document as an web page

File, Save As, then Desktop, then New folder…
After you create and name the New folder, then double click on it
Pick a name for your page. Save as type: Web Page.
Then click on the Save button.
Open your email program. Compose a new email.
Attach your web folder to the email and send.
