Creating a Web Page
• Creating a Web Page is easy and fun.
• You can use any composer or program you
wish, but avoid using frames.
• Netscape is available at HUB, in all CIRCA
labs and easily installed on Macs or PCs.
Using Netscape
• Netscape is an Internet
Browser.
• Netscape Navigator and
Netscape Composer are
toggled back and forth.
• Work in Composer and
view in Navigator.
• Netscape Composer does
not create pages with
frames. It’s easy to
download.
The Web Site Location
• URL is “Universal
Resource Locator.”
It’s the web page’s
address or location.
• Hyperlinks take you to
pages on the Web.
• Your page will have a
URL with hyperlinks.

Sailing Along With
Assignments
• Create one class web
page for the two
courses.
• Complete an
assignment and paste
it on separate web
page.
• Link this web page to
your class homepage
Let’s Get Started
• Begin by creating a
titled folder on the
desktop.
• Search the web and
collect some graphics
related to presentation.
• Put them in your
folder.
• Using composer,create
a web page. Title it
and put in your folder.
Uploading Web Pages
• Web pages are posted to a “server.” You
can use your UF “Plaza” account or upload
to your own server.
• Upload everything that is in your folder,
including the page(s) and graphics. It’s
convenient when you can upload the entire
folder at one time, but some servers don’t
allow you to do this.
The Basics
• Have fun with color
and graphics. Insert
them to make your
page interesting.
• Links from course
page include:
– Personal Information
– Assignments
• Children
• Adolescents
– Favorite sites
– HyperLinks related
to assignments
