An Introduction to the
Aeon of Horus...
In 1904, a new law and formula for living was
given to the human race by the Primary Trinity
of Ancient Egypt:
Nuit
Hadit
Ra-Hoor-Khuit
The Book of the Law
• Delivered to Aleister Crowley on April 8, 9 & 10, 1904 by a
“praeterhuman intelligence” calling himself Aiwass.
• It heralds the return of the Gods and Goddesses of Ancient
Egypt to their reign of mankind after centuries of darkness.
• It proclaims a new ruler of Earth, Ra Hoor Khuit, Lord of
the Sun and a new formula, the Law of Thelema:
“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.”
The Summons from
Our Lady of the Stars, Nuit...
“Now you shall know that the
chosen priest and apostle of
infinite space is the princepriest, the Beast…
Obey my prophet! Follow out
the ordeals of my knowledge!
Seek me only! Then the joys
of my love will redeem ye
from all pain.
This is so: I swear it from the
vault of my body…”
The Task from Her Lord and Consort,
the Omnipresent Hadit.
“Behold! The rituals of the old time are black. Let the evil ones be cast
away; let the good ones be purged by the prophet! Then shall this
knowledge go aright.
I am the flame that burns in every heart of man and in the core of every
star. I am Life, and the giver of Life…
I am the Snake that giveth Knowledge & Delight and bright glory , and
stir the hearts of men with drunkenness. To worship me take wine &
strange drugs whereof I will tell my prophet and be drunk thereof! They
shall not harm ye at all…
But remember, o chosen one, to be me; to follow the love of Nu in the
star-lit heaven; to look forth upon men, to tell them this glad word.”
Their First Child, The Lord of the Sun,
Ra-Hoor-Khuit
Beware! Hold! Raise the spell of Ra-HoorKhuit!…I am a god of War and of Vengeance
Worship me with fire and blood…with
swords and spears…Let the woman be girt
with a sword before me…
Fear not at all…Nu is your refuge as Hadit
your light; and I am the strength, force, vigour
of your arms.
Unity uttermost showed!
I adore the might of Thy breath,
Supreme and terrible God,
Who makest the gods and death
To tremble before Thee:I, I adore thee!
The law of
Qelhma
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of
the law.
Love is the law, love under will.
There is no law beyond Do What Thou
Wilt.
Magick: An Introduction
• The Art and Science of causing Change to occur in
conformity with Will.
• A beginner’s guide to the Occult Sciences and the
Law of Thelema.
• From the teachings of Aleister Crowley
Aleister Crowley - The Magician
Adorned in his crown &
magickal robe and armed
with~
• Wand, Cup, Sword, Disk
and Lamp
• Stele, Bell, Book and Holy
Oil…
Prepared to undertake THE
GREAT WORK
The Weapons of the Magician
The Disk
•The Disk, symbolic of the elemental force of
Earth, is the magician’s foundation.
•It is his Nourishment and his earthly life.
•He inscribes a symbol of the All on the Disk, to
show his Universe…
“All phenomena are sacraments of the Disk”
The Weapons of the Magician
The Sword
•The sword, symbolizing the force of Air, is the
magician’s human will, his intellect and his power to
think and analyze himself and his existence.
•It is used externally on the physical plane to divide
conquer his enemies.
•It is used on the astral plane to subject the spirits
to the Will of the magician.
“Only the simple can withstand the sword.”
The Weapons of the Magician
The Cup
•The Cup is for the force of Water and is a glyph
for the magician’s understanding of his environment, it
is his link with the Unseen.
•Understanding is like unto Quicksilver, it cannot be
grasped, only contained passively in a vessel.
“The cup does not contain infinite volume; its contents
must be spilled over to others.”
The Weapons of the Magician
The Wand
•The wand is the weapon of the Divine Will; the
highest active weapon of the magician.
•It is a replica of his highest aspiration: to
surrender to and to unite with the beloved.
•The will must be trained and fortified by the Holy
Oath.
•With the wand does the magician become like
unto a god, with all the attendant powers and
responsibilities.
The Weapons of the Magician
The Lamp
•The lamp is the weapon of Spirit, that which creates,
controls and harmonizes the four primary weapons.
•It burns without wick or oil, being fed by the Aethyr.
•It maintains the balance of Tetragrammaton, the
four-part essence of existence.
“Eternal, unconfined, unextended, without cause and
without effect, the Holy Lamp mysteriously burns.”
The Weapons of the Magician
The Temple represents the
external Universe and the
Magician must take is as he
finds it: indoors or outdoors,
simple or elaborate, it must
enhance the Magician’s sense
of “rightness”.
The Circle is the symbol of the
external aura of the Magician;
within is his home, without are
the hostile forces which would
destroy him.
The Weapons of the Magician
The Altar is the solid fixed basis of
the Magician’s work. Upon it are
placed his weapons, above it hangs
the lamp. It must conform to his
nature and to the nature of the
universe.
The Robe is generally of either black or
white and is that which conceals and
protects the magician.
The Weapons of the Magician
The Book of Spells or
conjurations is the record of every
thought, word and deed of the
magician.
The Bell summons and alarms and
sounds at the elevation of the Host,
it calls the Universe to attend to the
Holy Will of the magician.
The Crown is a band of jeweled
gold; a serpent-entwined glyph of
the kundalini. It represents the
attainment of the Magician’s work.
Nuit
Hadit
Ra-Hoor-Khuit
The Sun, Strength and Sight, Light; these are
