founded in 1971, is the Nordic
organisation for intergovernmental co-operation.
The tasks are to improve Nordic
co-operation, promote Nordic
identity and work in favour of
Nordic interests.
The five Nordic countries take
turns at chairing the Council for a
year at a time.
