Kristoff is better known as Kris.
Mother: Mary Ann Ashbrook.
Father: Lars Henry Kristofferson.
He was born June 22nd 1936 in Brownsville Texas.
Childhood Years
Kris is the oldest of three children.
He was expected to be a good role model.
Kris’ father always pushed him to join the army.
Sister: Karen Kirschenbauer
Brother: Kraigher Kristofferson
Army Career
In 1960 Kris joined the Air Force just as his father
had done.
He earned the rank of captain.
A couple years later he became a helicopter pilot.
Three years later he quit to continue to pursue his
songwriter dream.
In 2002 he was awarded Veteran of the Year by the
American Veterans Award Team. GO KRIS!
Education
Kris is very smart
He went to Pomona College
He was given a Rhodes Scholarship to study
literature at Oxford University

Why is he famous?
Why is he famous?
He wrote his first song when he was 11, it was
called I Hate Your Ugly Face.
His songwriting career didn’t take off until 1966
when Dave Dudley recorded Vietnam Blues.
He has been in quite a few movies.
His most famous movie is A Star is Born.
Also he can play the harmonica very well.

serious injuries made him quit.
