Survey Your
TRAITS
By S.Deringer
Are dominant traits more
common than recessive
traits?
Hypothesis: If we survey many
people for dominant and
recessive traits, then the
(dominant or recessive) traits
will be more common.
SURVEY
1. Use the charts on lab book pages THAT I TOLD YOU IN
CLASS (THE HOMEWORK PAGES) to survey at least five
people.
2. They need to be family members. If you don’t have
enough family members then do a friend but it cannot be
someone on the team.
3. Ask each person if they have the dominant or recessive
phenotype (physical characteristic) for each trait listed.
4. Under the survey count the total number of dominant
and recessive traits.
5. We will fill in the Class Total part together when
everyone has completed their survey.
