Supplemental Figure 1. The predicted 3-D structure of Pto from residue 22 to 303
based on threading the inferred amino acid sequences onto the crystal structure of
fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (Peitsch et al., 1995; http://www.expasy.ch/sw3d).
The N and C terminal 21 and 18 amino acids did not align with the crystal structure
of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 and are not shown. In yellow are the amino
acid residues that are polymorphic in both the functional and non-functional class
of Pto alleles. In red are the polymorphisms found only in the non-functional class
of Pto alleles. White arrows indicate the boundaries of the Pto activation domain.
