Notes Making Proteins
• String of DNA is copied and a mirror image is sent
out into the cytoplasm is called mRNA
(messenger RNA).
• Every three base pairs is a codon – each codon
codes for one amino acid.
• mRNA is read by ribosome.
• Ribosome calls for correct tRNA (transfer RNA).
• Ribosome attaches amino acids together to make
protein.
