According to Sowetan (February 2014, 18th, page 6) newspaper, Mampe Tafeni of V
section found out the hard way when her pit toilet crumbled while she was using it.
She almost drowned in the mess of the raw human waste until she was rescued by
a neighbour. Residents of the area 50 km from Bloemfontein face a daily struggle
with pit toilets that are old and crumbling.
The area has a population of 1411.
100% of the population reside in Formal residence.
100% (1411) of households have access to piped water inside dwelling.
96% (1348) of households have access to pit toilet, 1% (12) have access to flush toilet
64 %( 903) of people are employed
