at all
Refusing Drugs

Refusing drugs can be uncomfortable or
difficult if they are offered by a friend,
but you should be prepared to resist
peer pressure

The best way to avoid drugs is to avoid
people who use them, or choose
activities that will not expose you to
drug use
Alternatives to Drug Abuse

People who use drugs want to change
the way they feel (relax, energetic,

Signs of Drug Abuse


signs together are a warning

Changes in Behavior - lack of interest,
mood swings, different friends, being
secretive, borrowing money

Physical Changes – sleeping problems,
bloodshot eyes, dazed look, excessive
sweating, unexplained rash, runny nose
Getting Help

If you or someone you know abuses
drugs, get help (group therapy, hotline,
treatment centers, hospitals)

Don’t be afraid to call for help because
they are all confidential

It is important to seek help ASAP to
prevent terrible physical, mental, and
social damage that drug abuse can
cause
