CDA APPROACH TO ACHIEVEMENT IS
RESULTS-ORIENTED
“It is not what you do that counts, but
what you achieve by doing it!”
For example:
“Reaching 5000 children is less
important than preventing 500 from
using drugs.”

HARM REDUCTION: TREATMENT CAPACITY
Treatment demand exceeds the capacity of
many treatment centres to cope, and waiting
lists exist at several centres.
Extrapolations indicate that the capacity is
approximately 17 500 patients per annum
against an estimated 1.97 million problem
alcohol users and 237 000 drug dependents.
Note that not all problem users need treatment
