Brain- controls thinking, reasoning,
remembering, controls movement…..It is
the ‘Master Control’

It is the ‘computer’ of the body

Cerebrum- This part is in charge of thinking,
learning, talking, memory, and the five senses
 Cerebellum- This part controls all voluntary
muscles, so it controls the skeletal muscles
 Medulla- This part controls breathing. It controls
all involuntary muscle movements. Heartbeat &
digestion
*** If the medulla is damaged, you will die


Caffeine- a drug that will speed up the
nervous system- Example- pop & coffee
Nicotine- a drug found in tobacco. It speeds
up the nervous system
Alcohol- A drug which slows down the
nervous system. Example- beer & wine
