INTRODUCTION
• This is the introduction to the new
specimen’s nervous system. Their nervous
system controls the senses, movement,
blood-flow, and daily activity.
Parts of The System
• Brain
• Spinal Cord
• Central Nervous
System
• Peripheral Nervous
System
How the System Works…
A message is sent through the body with
the use of neurons. They are in a line that
transmits the messages with electrical
currents and an amazingly fast chemical.
They are sent through the CNS and PNS,
the central and peripheral nervous
systems(respectively).
How the System Works…
The difference between the CNS and PNS, is
that the central nervous system is entirely
encased in our bones. The CNS has a job that
receives the stimuli from the PNS and make
decisions about what signals to send back. The
PNS is in cells, and has a job of sending
impulses from the CNS to the limbs and organs.
It also receives sensory information and
transmits it to the CNS.
How the System Works…
The five senses(seeing, hearing, taste, touch, and
smell) are things that our body uses to detect our
surroundings. Hearing is used by the ears to pick
up sound waves in the air that are caused by
objects interacting. Seeing is when our eyes see
the light around something and transmit the
images to the brain. Taste and smell are interpreted
from tiny receptors found in the nose and on the
tongue. When the nose detects smell, it sends it to
the brain while taste buds detect and transmit
flavors.
How the System Works…
The difference between somatic and autonomic
nervous system is that the autonomic(auto) means
“without thought.” The somatic nervous system is
when you use your nervous system in voluntary
actions like kicking a soccer ball, snapping your
fingers, and scratching your nose when it itches.
Autonomic nervous system is when your nervous
system does something that you don’t have to think
about before doing like breathing and blinking.
Interaction With Other Systems
The nervous system interacts with every other
system in the body. Your heart(cardiovascular)
couldn’t beat without your brain transmitting the
message to do so. Your body wouldn’t know when
to breathe(respiratory) without nerves sending
messages from the brain. The nervous system
sends a message to every other system so that the
system will do what it’s supposed to do.

This is our favorite website because we got most of our
information from it and it was easy to understand.
