Flu is a highly infectious illness
that spreads rapidly through the
coughs and sneezes of people
who are carrying the virus.
If you're at risk of complications from flu, make sure
you have your annual flu jab.
If you are not sure if you need the vaccination ask
the receptionist.
If you are in one of these groups, you're more
vulnerable to the effects of flu (even if you're fit and
healthy) and could develop flu complications, which
are more serious illnesses such as bronchitis and
pneumonia, which could result in hospitalisation.
Catch it, Bin it, Kill it
To protect your self and others – ensure that you
use a tissue, throw it away and wash your hands.

Autumn Edition
Welcome to the autumn edition
Its that time of year again
when flu can catch us all out,
be prepared and have your
flu vaccination. (See the
yellow flu leaflet to check if
you need a flu vaccination).
Drop in dates:
Tuesday 16th October and
Tuesday 13th November
8:30 -19:00
We are offering pregnant
ladies the whooping cough
vaccination . Ask reception
for an appointment.
Flu symptoms can hit quite suddenly and severely.
They usually include fever, chills, headaches and
aching muscles. You can often get a cough and sore
throat. Because flu is caused by a virus and not
bacteria, antibiotics won't treat it.

England are taking part in Stoptober - a new,

having a spring clean of your drug cabinet.
Medication has a sell by date too! Make sure
you take all your unwanted and out of date
medications and ointments to your local
pharmacy for safe disposal.
The NHS spends millions of pounds on
medication! Please make sure you only order
the medication that you actually require.
