– We give everyone the same service

– A shorthand term for what can happen
when people, or areas, experience a
combination of linked circumstances.
Such linked and mutually reinforcing
problems can combine to create complex
and fast-moving vicious circles. (Social Exclusion Unit)

– A preconceived notion based on
little or no fact

– the unfair or misguided ways we act as a
result of prejudice, assumptions and even
lack of thought, causing disadvantage and
exclusion.

playing a part in:
– On-going learning about diversity
– Use of management systems (e.g.induction &
appraisal) to improve inclusive working
– Equipping staff with tools to implement initiatives
– Monitoring of practice to identify barriers
– Activities promoting an inclusive corporate culture
– Involvement of service-users in planning, monitoring
& evaluation
