• Located in Central Africa

Overview:
• Climate is tropical.
• Society: 200 different African Ethnic groups.
- With 5 different languages.
Economy
• Economy:
- Systemic corruption since independence in 1960, combined with
country-wide instability and conflict that began in the mid-90s.
Education & Environment
• As of 2010, 2.5% of the GDP
• Stay about 8 years long- little more, little less.
• There are many issues with the environment.
Military
• Average ages between 18-45 can volunteer.
- Male: ages 16-49.
- Female: ages 18-48.
People
• Obesity - adult prevalence rate is 1.7 %.
• Underweight- 28.2%
• Age 15- read and write.
• Diseases are spread fast.
Poverty
• Budget
Poverty/ HIV/AIDS
• Half of the country is living below the poverty
line.
- Women are hit very hard by this
• HIV/AIDS- affects 5.3% of the population
Rural vs. Urban
• Rural:
- Hard to get water
- Hard to get a job
• Urban:
- Easy access to water
- Unemployment is not a large problem.
