• Kuala Lumpur is the Capital City

• Constitutional Monarchy containing 13 states
• Bicameral Legislation
• Senate-69 Members
• House of Reps-219 Seats
• Paramount Ruler and Prime Minister have most
power
• Popular vote for the House of Representatives only
GEOGRAPHY
• Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia separated by
South China Sea
• Located in Asia

• Peninsular Malaysia contains forested mountains
• East Malaysia has mountain range in the middle
• Mostly plains and hills make up the rest of Malaysia
CLIMATE
• Mostly tropical equatorial climate
• Contain highlands, coastal, and lowland climates
• Highland cooler and less humid
• Lowland has high humidity
• Coastal same as lowland with more rainfall
• East Malaysia has maritime climate while Peninsular is
affected by mainland Asia

• Largest exports=Electronics, palm oil, and petroleum

• One of the top exporters of electronics
• 6th best Country for ease of doing business
• Best Country in World for obtaining Credit
• Over 1,000 miles of coastline
• Freedom of Religion
• Major solar panel exporter
CONS
• 113th in World for obtaining building permits
• Income gap is very large (38% of wealth owned by top
10%)
• Increases in crime and poverty in Kuala Lumpur
• Large amount of brain drain
RECOMMENDATIONS
• Focus on technology to stay active in electronic market
• Push for cleaner energy to drive up demand for solar
panels
• Invest in poorer regions to start them up and fix income
gap
• Heavy focus on private sector
• Make federal areas states
