Program overview
CARE International began work in Côte d’Ivoire in 2000, and is
operating now with around 70 staff through 4 offices (west,
center, and south ) and is active in :
1.
health (malaria, HIV/AIDS) funded by the Global fund and
USG
2.
reconstruction (of destroyed basic infrastructure and fragile
institutions) after the crisis (2002-2011);
3.
and governance (community development, social cohesion,
microfinance, livelihood protection)
4.
CARE started a new program with cocoa producers
communities funded by Mondelez (formely Kraft) through
Care UK and Cargill through Care US

Some figures
In 2012 : 8 millions of bednets were distributed by Care through a
Global Fund Grants to fight against malaria
CARE helped 2,140 at risk youth (ex-combattant) by conducting an
economic reintegration program , with the Gvt
VLSA project : currently about 400 women associations exist in the
country, they have earned around 137,000 USD which are invest in
income generating activities
CARE is currently conducting Community Driven Project that aims to
rebuild 1000 households destroyed during the recent crisis in the
western, lower land driven conflict through land titling
