INTRODUCTION

•
•
•
GPUs are often presented in video cards.
It consist of a specialized electronic circuit.
GPU has significantly more shaders (dies) than CPU cores.
Extensively used in computers, phones, game consoles, etc.
Application requires intensive graphics with GPU acceleration can run faster.
WHY DO YOU NEED IT ?
•
•
•
•
•
GPU stands for Graphics Processing Unit.
An essential part in a modern PC build
Used for rendering images, 3D animations, and gaming.
Made for graphics computing and acceleration.
Applied in more advanced areas: engineering, content creation, and
even bitcoin mining.
BEST CARD FOR YOU
•
•
•
•
•
First, consider what is your budget and computer tasks.
Prices range from 100 dollars to skyrocketing-high 4000 dollars.
In theory, the larger monitor your have, more vram you need.
The newer the video cards are, the better bang for the buck.
Make sure the TDP of the card did not surpass your power supply limit.
INSTALL/UPGRADE GRAPHICS CARDS
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Buy your self a anti-static glove first.
Get a screw driver with magnetic front.
Have a clean area where you put screws from the old card.
Open the front panel of your PC.
(Take the old card out), Place your new card in the PCIE slot.
Brutal force is not recommended.
After the installation, check if graphics card’s driver is up-to-date.
INTEGRATED GRAPHICS CARD
•
•
•
•
•
•
Many consumer grade CPUs come with integrated GPU.
Integrated GPUs are soldered in a CPU chip.
They are more power efficient and cheaper than dedicated GPUs.
Their performance are about 5 to10 times weaker than dedicated GPUs.
Most powerful integrated graphics Intel HD580 is GTX950m equivalent.
An Integrated GPU uses part of system memory for video memory.
DEDICATED GRAPHICS CARDS
Dedicated GPUs have independent built in video rams.
Significantly consumer more power than integrated graphics cards.
Generate more heat, so you’ll need a better cooling.
Most dedicated graphics cards have fast processing speed.
Moore’s Law exemplifies transistors' Performance will be doubled every a
year and half.
• So now the graphics card’s architecture and performance is still improving.

HOW TO OVERCLOCK
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Maker sure have a proper cooling for your PC
Download overclock software like MSIafterburner or EVGA PrecisionX
Download GPU stress test software like furmark.
Than slowly adjust the clock speed and vram speed.(25-100mhz)
If temperature exceeds 80 Celsius, increase fan speed.
Run the stress test to see if the overclock is successful.
If your PC blue screened, just restart your PC.
If not, the framerates and speed
High temperature and voltage may do severe damage to your card.
ADVICE FOR BETTER EXPERIENCE
•
•
•
•
•
Control the room temperature as low as possible.
Make sure the fans in graphics cards are not blocked.
Use air conditioning as needed.
Remove the dust in fans in your graphics card if needed.
Replace thermal paste periodically.
