Now that we’ve explored electricity and surge, let’s take it to a
SIMPLE level…
Power is created,
distributed and
delivered to the
facility.
Power is sent to the
facility and
consumption is
measured for billing
Power is distributed
inside the facility at
the circuit breaker
panels.
Electricity wants to complete the “circuit”...
Electricity enters the facility, is metered and sent to the
panel. The panel distributes the power to the device for
usage. Power flows through the device, is used and then
seeks the end of the circuit…Ground.
Electricity “wants” to flow at 120v. “Clean” power will
be at it’s peak efficiency with un-interrupted flow.
“An object in motion tends to stay in motion.”
BREAKER PANEL
To Ground.
To Ground.
What happens when the circuit is stopped inside the facility?
In this simple illustration: Power to the light is turned off.
Much like water in a garden hose, electricity will
create pressure on the system as it seeks a
way out to complete the circuit or exit the hose.
BREAKER PANEL
To Ground.
To Ground.
The electricity “backs-up” into the panel as it tries to find the
easiest way to get to ground, completing the circuit.
BREAKER PANEL
This “surge” of power is now
sent through the facility’s
wiring system seeking a way
to ground. The extra power
is delivered throughout the
facility causing the electrical
devices to run hotter, expel
the extra energy in some
form (electrical erosion), run
inefficiently and damages
the internal components,
reducing the life of the
equipment.
Remember, electronic
devices are designed to run
at a specific voltage be it
120v or 240v. They run
cooler and more efficiently
with properly delivered
power.
A typical McDonald’s will experience 50,000 to 100,000 surges in 1 hour! Consider the surge impact of air conditioning
units, furnace units, parking lot lighting, freezers, coolers, gaming machines, machine tools…..
Has this happened to you??
What happens when I turn the light back on?
BREAKER PANEL
Just as you open the garden hose, the power rushes to get out and complete
the circuit. This surge also has a negative impact on the life of all electrical
devices. The surge of the electricity back into the circuit deteriorates all
electrical devices, reducing the life of the equipment.
UtiliGuard, total system surge protection will eliminate the wear and tear, increase the life of
electrical devices, and encourages efficiency in electrical usage.
This improves the bottom line in reduced maintenance costs, replacement costs, downtime
and a reduction in energy consumption
UtiliGuard® is installed at the power
source for complete protection.
Surges are shunted to
ground instantly.
Equipment, light bulbs &
ballasts run cooler and last
longer, REDUCING
MAINTENACE COSTS.
Product protection and
increased unit life.
REDUCING
REPLACEMENT COSTS.
UtiliGuard® protects the entire facility
from external and internal surges!
Less energy used =
more profit.
The UtiliGuard® is the best Power Quality System on the market. It is important to understand the
key differentiation points of this product:
 Clamping voltage – This system clamps surges at
130 Volts, the lowest level in the industry.
 Clamping Speed – At 85 picoseconds (trillionths of a
second) the UtiliGuard® is one of the fastest surge
suppression system available.
 Lifetime Product Warranty – DFS will replace, at
no charge, any product that fails to perform as described.
Appliance Warranty – If the system fails, each piece
of equipment connected to the protected panel is insured up
to $100,000 per occurrence.
 Guaranteed Electricity Savings – Insured,
guarantee that customers will save a minimum of 20% on
their monthly power bill by major 3rd party insurer.
Proprietary Heat Sink Formula - The design and
composition of the UtiliGuard® is only available from DFS.
This allows DFS to stand behind it’s product as discussed!
