What we have done for the MTCC ?
We developed a working prototype CAT (Control
Analysis Tool)
We would like to understand if a similar system
has been already foreseen by CMS and if not if
other sub-detector are interested in.

RPC CAT for the MTCC
1. Make standard/custom Query to the online DB
2. Produce a root file with a rootpla per datapoint
Chamber: current, voltage, status and temperature
Electronics & trigger: none up to now

History plot (standard for shifter and custom for expert)

RPC CAT for the future
CAT for chambers, electronics and trigger able to:

Produce a set of standard histograms, plots, results and
warning/alarms automatically for people in shift.
•
Friendly user interface for more complicated analysis
•
Data file available for experts
What do we need to do that:
1. Standard/custom DB Query
2. Intermediate data format (root files) to prevent to many DB
accesses
3. Analysis tools (data synch. and hardware-chamber mapping)
4. GUI for shifter. Experts can use root

Conclusions
Napoli group is interested in the development of
DCS analysis system for the RPC
We have 2 people (phd and student) + Giovanni and
myself
Our exercise for the MTCC is working and is
producing results (A. Cimmino)
Can we use DQM or integrate it in the DQM ? There
are other possibilities ?
What about the other subsystems ?
