Conclusions
● IEC 61850 is a powerful standard with global support in the industry
and many technical qualities to support engineering workflows in the
design, maintenance and operation of modern electrical infrastructure.
● Using global power quality standards IEC 61850 can be enhanced to
provide key support for advanced power quality applications by:
● Improving logical node support,
● Improving time synchronization, and
● Utilizing file based reporting options.
