Drama and Education
 PROCESS DRAMA This concept allows students and
teachers to create an imaginary dramatic world. In this world they work
together to explore problems and issues such as ethical and moral issues.
 T.I.E. (Theatre In Education)
It is a work done by
professional actors and teachers in a school context. The main aim is to use
theatre and drama to create a wide range of learning opportunities across the
whole curriculum.
 D.I.E. (Drama In Education) The most significant
aims of DIE are to get the students taking in consideration different
viewpoints and achieve deeper understanding.

Different forms for different targets
MASS MEDIA (for instance Radio Drama) can touch a large range
of the population but will exclude people living in remote areas where they don’t
have this access or people who do not speak the same language or dialect as it is
the case in Thailand.
FORUM THEATRE is a participatory theatre form where
parts of the play are performed by the audience, usually to convince a
character to change its behavior followed by a “theatre debate” launched after
the play to raise the discussion about certain issues.
STORY DRAMA is a constructivist approach to collaborative
script creation, dramatization, and professional development. ”. In story drama,
the roles of “actors” and “spectators” are fluid, interactive, and
interchangeable. People work collaboratively to co-create both individual and
group understandings.

From the concept of psycho-drama to
the concept of Ethico-drama
PSYCHO-DRAMA In the process of acting out conflicts and problems
in interpersonal relations, the actors gained insight and were helped by the group
process to remedy problem behavior patterns and improve coping skills. He created the
concept of group therapy.
SOCIO-DRAMA is a way of simulating what happens in life in order to:
explore social issues; develop greater understanding between groups and individuals;
problem-solve and make decisions; rehearse new roles and strategies and predict
outcomes. Sociodrama can provide an action forum for resolving conflicts among
people with different views.
ETHICO-DRAMA the expression of the conflicting theses in an ethical
issue by the performing individuals within a dramatic texture. It is as well an an
educational method presenting the basic dilemmas of ethical issues in a succinct, clear
and neat manner.
