Role of the Coach
Overall responsibility
– to instill in participants lifetime values of
sportsmanship and fair play by establishing a
positive sport environment
Ability to instill values depends on how well
you understand:
1. Participant’s reasons for being in sport.
2. Knowledge about the roles of coaches and what
makes a “coach”
3. Values of fair play and adhere to an appropriate
ethical and philosophical approach.
