What do living things need to
grow?
 All living things grow and change.
 All living things need food, water, and air to live.
What is the life cycle?
 Each organism grow and change during their lives.
 Plants grow up from the seeds into a young plants
and have a lot of changes and develops.
 Also Animals From the time of birth to death they
have a lot of changes and stages.
 Life cycle is

How does a plant grow from
the seeds?
(Example life cycle of the bean )
The seeds of the bean plant grows in four steps
 The first step:-
The roots appears then shoot is pushed upon the
ground.
 The second step:The shoot begins to sprout into a leafy plant.
 The third step:True leaves begin to grow.

The adult plant has flowers and beans
The flowers contain pods that make seeds that can grow
into a new plant.
• Some plants grow from
Apple seeds
Bean seeds
Coffee seeds
• But not all plants begin their life cycles as

• Some plants grows from the underground
stems (Bulbs) like tulips and onion.
• Some plants grow from another kind of
underground stem called tubers such as

Animal life cycles
 Animals grow and change during their life span, or
from time to birth up to death.
 The series of changes in appearance it called
metamorphosis.
 Example of some animals life cycles
Butterfly life cycle
Frog life cycle
Grasshopper life cycle
What do you think
What is the differences between the following
life cycles?
Incomplete
Metamorphosis
Complete metamorphosis
 Do you know some one who looks like his mom or her
mom?
 Why this child look like her mom or dad?
 Do you know what is heredity?
 Inherited (Heredity):When the traits pass from the parents to their children.
Some traits are inherited some are not inherited
 Let’s check the following traits
