How seeds germinate
• Germinate means
to grow
• A seed needs two
things to
germinate:
– 1.water
– 2.warmth
Some seeds can germinate
without soil
• We put seeds in a mini
germinator and they grew
• We needed coffee filters and a
small container with a lid
• We put a bush bean, lima bean,
sun flower seed, corn seed in
the container with water
• We waited about two weeks and
saw results
Things I noticed
• My seed has a terrible smell.
• Some seeds have been
growing this small gray
fuzzy stuff I try to avoid it.
The ones that have it I call
infected.
• Some seeds have grown
leaves.
