Average Measurment
of the Green Bean
plants in 3 different
enviroments in cm
Cold
Heat Pad
Room Temp.
Green beans grow best in a hot temperature environment; we
know this because the data from seeds in the heated growing
temperature grew an average of 16.4cm as opposed to
10.43cm for the room temperature and 0cm for the cold seeds.
The heated seeds developed shoots and some seeds
developed leaves. The seeds in the room temperature chamber
only developed root systems and frigid growth chambers did not
grow at all. Our hypothesis was partially rejected because we
predicted that the hot and cold growth chamber would grow
little to none. Our data supported that the growth chamber in
the fridge would not grow, but the data disproves our hypothesis
about the heated growth chamber. An interesting observation
was that even though the frigid seeds had been dormant for ten
days, once we removed them they started to develop small
roots.
Thank you Katie and all the other scientists involved with Planting
Science. You help us so much with our research experiment and
got us thinking about science in everyday live.
