Musk Duck
The Musk Duck is a very
common duck to the
Macquarie Marshes and
they
Can live up to twenty
years and is a beautiful
duck

About A Female Musk Duck
Female Musk Ducks are a dark
grey brown colour and they can
grow up to be
Forty five to fifty five
centimetres long and the
females have two legs
And can have up to ten eggs.

The eggs colour is a light blue
with black writhers all over
the eggs shell.

About A Male Musk Duck
The male Musk Ducks are
different to the females they
have two legs but they are a
different size to the female. The
male is sixty to seventy
centimetres

brown than a dark brown like
the female.

A Musk Ducks diet is about eating
anything they lay their eyes on. Like water
beetles, yabbies, fresh water shellfish and
aquatic plants

What The Nest Is Made Of
A Musk Ducks nest is
made up of twigs that
have fallen off trees

in trees they usually nest on
little islands in the water. The
water would be very deep
and the nest would not be
near land and they can also
nest in high reeds so they are
seen by predators.

The life cycle of a Musk Duck.

duckling. The duckling
becomes a grown up duck
and Breeds, lays some eggs
and when it becomes old it
dies.
About The Eggs
When a female Musk Duck breeds it lays
up two ten eggs. The
eggs are a dark blue with black writhers
on them. It takes the
Eggs one month until the eggs hatch.
Till the eggs start to fly their mother
brings there
Food to the nest. When the eggs start to
fly after two weeks
They have the ability two catch their own
food and they
Don’t go back to the nest
Threatened Or Not
Just so we all know the
Musk Duck is not threatened
Or endangered because it
seems when people catch
them they
Don’t know what they taste
like and they say that
There not the best duck to
eat.
How we can help
We can help the Musk
Duck species by not
shooting them
Not taking their eggs
and eating them and
destroying there
Nests.
